Charles Henry ALLERT
Allert, Charles H. Loving husband and father Passed away Feb. 26th - Age 88 Born to Bertha and William Allert. Loyal husband to Hazel Larson, they celebrated over 60 years of marriage together. He served in WWII as an Instrument Flight Mechanic with the 3rd and the 397th Bombardment Squadron/6th Air Force. Helping to maintain the B-24 Liberator was his pride and joy. He retired from Univac after 34 years. His hobbies included watch making, railroading, aviation and gardening (he had the best tomatoes on the planet). Among those who will miss him most are his children, Charlene, Emily (Dean) and Johannes (Lori) and his brother, Donald (Maxine). Preceded in death by his wife, Hazel who died less than a month ago on January 30, 2009. Thank you to the fine staff at Cerenity Center for the excellent care they provided and for the support they offered to the family. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 7th at 10 a.m. in the chapel at Acacia Park Cemetery, 2151 Pilot Knob Road, Mendota Heights. • Biography. Charles entered the Army in 1942 and finished in the fall of 1945. He served in the air force, instrument repair and was stationed on the west coast and in Panama. He worked for Engineering Research and the much publicized Electrical Brain. Charles married Hazel Mary Jane LARSON, daughter of Helmer Johannes LARSON and Emily Pearl LAFLASH, on 4 Sep 1948. (Hazel Mary Jane LARSON was born on 9 Aug 1923, died on 30 Jan 2009 in Saint Paul, Ramsey, Minnesota, USA and was buried in Mendota Heights, Dakota, Minnesota, USA.) The cause of her death was Pneumonia. |
