Upon death of Father Hemberle, they moved to Henderson MN and took charge of the McClellan Hotel until the spring of 1882 when they came to Gaylor, being amonth the first settlers of that city. He engaged inthe hardware business and was prominently identified with both the business and social interests of the early days of Gaylord. He ofen took butter and eggs, also, wood in trade for his goods, shipping the butter and eggs to a wholesale house in St. Paul.
